Digital Publishing

To find dependable and valid information, it is essential to do research. Ever since I started writing essays and research papers for school, I was taught to look for information I can trust in order to write a legit and convincing report. Thus, through years of finding reliability in library books, I find more trustworthy sources there. If I wanted to verify the credibility of an internet source, I usually check for an author's name or for its publishing information.

In today's world, the media is one of the things that will either make us sane, indifferent, or frenzied with emotion. We feed off this supposedly "conventional" source for reasons of entertainment, curiosity, knowledge, etc. I honestly cannot say I fully trust the media. I feel that some of the information they put out there are exaggerated. Not every news source will portray a story as is. Judgements and opinions are thrown and spread out there like an atomic bomb in a nuclear war, and this is how attention is acquired. The more suspense a story has, the more it will attract consumers, big corporations, the public, etc. However, I do not believe that they are a complete lie when it comes to serious business. I get my news off the internet, the radio, sometimes the newspaper, and from time to time, I have conversations with friends about current issues. I try to get news from a variety of sources just to validate the general issues that are happening, and usually, these issues do get replayed over and over again, which brings me to believe the subject itself.

It is important for me to know what is going on in the society we live in. Everything we do is connected to the events that happen among us. I simply believe that it is important to be aware of how we live our lives and how we are interconnected with anything that happens to us and even society as a whole. We as human beings are the roots to progress; we are the reasons for change. Having knowledge of reality and existing problems will prevent us from being oblivious to the underlying truths of society.
